Smart technology has been the rage in recent years, and 2017 looks to continue the trend. Voice automated and WiFi-enabled device sales continue to accelerate, fueling homes of all types.
As reported by Mansion Global, "the Internet of Things has become more egalitarian, and the market more viable, the development of connected technology has reached a torrid pace. New intelligent in-home products, from the invaluable to the outlandish, are reaching consumers on a near daily basis."
Considering this, they've predicted several technology trends as we enter the new year:
- Lots of companies will continue to compete in the Smart Home hub solution space, driving down prices and driving up options.
- Smart Home security for the protection of "smart" devices will grow in importance (think hacker protection).
- Smart Home device development will continue to grow, including devices with gesture recognition.
- 4K display sales will continue to boom.
These four predictions probably don't come as much of a surprise, especially for those who've followed the trend reporting over the past year.
It does mean that professional integration services for the infrastructures that support these devices will continue to grow, especially products for robust networks and signal transmission.
