Classroom Wearable Technology to Grow Double Digits
Wearable technology might not spring to mind when considering the classroom. Granted, wearables have become part of daily life for millions of consumers, especially considering the proliferation of fitness devices; however, their role in education doesn't get much visibility. According to a new report released on Market Research Reports and Technavio, things are about to change.
Analysts forecast the classroom wearable technology market in the US to grow at an annual growth rate of 45.52% during the period 2016-2020.
Some of the growth will come from common wrist wearable smart devices, such as watches and fitness trackers; however, most of the momentum is with head-wearable technology geared toward virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
This certainly isn't a new topic...many outlets have relayed the benefits of interactive and immersive learning for years. It's the steep rate of adoption that's getting the most attention.
