TechLogix Launches OM1 Fiber Connectors
Have you ever found yourself in a bind trying to terminate old fiber optic cable? Well, apparently it's a common problem.... enough so that TechLogix is releasing multimode OM1 compatible snap-on connectors.
"This release is a bit different for us," explains Christopher Melendy, TechLogix CTO. "We're heavily focused on fiber optics and emerging technologies, and OM1 isn't moving in that direction. In fact, 62.5um fiber has been phasing out for over 20 years."
Until now, the TechLogix ECOConnector™ line focused on modern variants of fiber and connectors, including LC, SC, FC and ST options for 9um single mode (OS1, OS2) and 50um multimode (OM2, OM3, OM4) cable. The addition of 62.5um multimode OM1 connectors allows for the repair and re-termination of older fiber as well. Models include:
- M19-LC | 62.5um multimode OM1 compatible LC connectors
- M1U-SC | 62.5um multimode OM1 compatible SC connectors
Both connector options terminate with the same tools and ease-of-operation as other TechLogix ECOConnector™ models.
